My First ResearchEd

I was going to write a blow by blow account of my day at ResearchEd but I’m not sure if I’d do any of the sessions justice. Instead I’ll just ramble about my day for a bit and then draw some broad, generalised observations.

I wasn’t sure I’d get there to begin with. First I had to ask my wife’s permission, which I know sounds silly, but we have two daughters, weekends are precious to us and generally I keep work at work. And in some confused and pitiable sort of way, I felt sort of embarrassed in wanting to go to the conference as if this in itself was an admission of edu-fanaticism.
