Education needs to make its bed

I love reading about ways to make anything or anyone (mainly myself) more efficient and productive and I do try to continuously improve as a result. The downside is that I’ve got to an efficient place in my life where I find it very difficult to look at people who insist on typing with just their index fingers. Anyway, I read this book in which the author extols us to do the small things as a habit, and to start the day right by making our beds. Naturally, I wondered if there were aspects of our education system that are also inefficient and could/should be replaced with the equivalent of bed making and good habits?
