Seating plans: at the heart of my classroom management

The way I see it......

I spend a long time on the seating plans for my classes. Whilst I wouldn’t go as far as to claim they are works of art, I would say that I am proud of them and am reminded of their value every single time I teach my classes.

I thought I would blog about my approach and hope that maybe it will be of interest and possibly value to other teachers. As always with my writing, this is based on my personal experiences. It may or may not match properly considered academic research on the subject.

This is how I set up my seating plans.

Stage 1: Getting the materials needed

1) I print from SIMs a set of photos for the class which I then cut up.
