List of UK Education Blogs Version 17

This list should include almost all education blogs (i.e. blogs about education, rather than blogs seeking to educate) by people in or from the UK that have been updated since 2 years ago and have a (just about) working feed. There’s a small number of blogs that have to be removed on ethical grounds (more detail about this below) and I haven’t included blogs aimed only at students or parents in a particular class or school. I have tried to include all the staffrm blogs that are not clearly marked as being outside the UK, although any that have only started in the last 8 weeks probably won’t have been included. I haven’t tried to include education news feeds from newspapers.

I do suggest you look for your own blog here and let me know in the comments or on Twitter if you can’t find it. However, before doing so please check that it is eligible (i.e. you are in or from the UK, you have updated it in the last 24 months and you have a working feed) and that, if you can’t find the title you have tried viewing the page source and searched for the URL It could be the title of your blog, according to your feed, isn’t what you thought it was.

Finally, a note on the blog that are not included on ethical grounds. I suspect this might be more controversial than previously (although I have always remove blogs from the list on ethical ground) as recently there seem to be a lot of people on education social media willing to defend online abuse. I have tried to be inclusive and not removed anything on grounds of low quality or objectionable opinions including bloggers who largely “debate” through insults. However, I have not included:

2 blogs advocating Conductive Education, a crank treatment for SEN that is often considered to constitute child abuse;
A blog selling dyslexia treatments with no scientific support;
A blog containing (potentially) libellous and inappropriate sexual content about a real person;
A blog where most posts appear to be harassing a specific named school.

I believe sharing links to such material would be unethical. Please let me know if anything else inappropriate has slipped through.

In case you were wondering, there should be 3741 blogs here. They are in alphabetical order of titles, but with blogs with names that start with something other than a letter relegated to the end. Staffrm blogs have the username as the title. In the next few weeks I hope to start a spreadsheet to collect information on subject and sector for each blog, which should hopefully make the information in the list more useful.
