It’s easy to forget at times why we teach. The stress of GCSE silly season, policies being forced upon you by senior management, that class last thing on an afternoon when it’s hot and humid, etc.
There are some days where you can’t help but leave work with a smile on your face, and today was one of those days – it was our head boy/girl elections.
How our lead student (prefect) system works is that Y10 students have to fill in an application form (including a double sided A4 form with 3 questions) and get 2 staff to support their nomination, then staff have 10 votes to pick those applicants who they think will succeed in the post.
