Teaching Buddies – Driving Teaching Standards Up

Throughout this year myself and a colleague have been working closely together for a variety of reasons but it was prompted by the pupil premium intervention sessions we were tasked to run during morning registration. Thankfully we are good friends and I’ve found we work very well together, both having a similar perspective on teaching in general. My colleague joined us as a maths teacher last year after completing a geography GTP with us and the school wanted to keep him but we had more geography teachers than needed anyway. Having excelled during his training year and being in need of a maths teacher he was appointed to teach maths full time after a short intensive maths subject knowledge course.
