The Further Education Blogger: The language of learning

So, I’ve been doing some analysis of lesson observation reports recently. Add this to the comments I see and hear on a daily basis, I have come to the decision that we (educators) need to be careful about the language we use when we talk about learning. Now I am no linguist, but hear me out…

“Learning was clearly taking place as all learners were engaged”

“They were learning well which was evident in the amount of written work”

Do comments like these sound familiar?
