Starting Over

I struggled with the title of this post for ages because I really didn’t want to write a “how to” post and because everyone’s situation will be different. For example, I have found a big difference in how and where to look for work when I compare where I live now (Sydney, Australia) with where I was living last year (London, UK).

When I was working in London I found the agencies absolutely invaluable. Having just moved to a new city in a new country I didn’t know many people or have the contacts that I do in my home town. When I first arrived I was only registered with one agency but I quickly realised that meant I was limiting myself in the volume of offers that I could be getting so I spent one half-term break registering online with a whole bunch of agencies.
