I work at a school with “Excellent behaviour for learning”. Those are Ofsted’s words. On the morning of Ofsted, we didn’t brief the kids to behave in a certain way. We didn’t remove certain kids or play the Ofsted game of coaching the kids into what to say when asked certain questions. We have high expectations of them and the great majority of visitors to the school rarely leave without mentioning the exceptional behvaiour of our students. There was a brief 5 minute assembly where we let the kids know that we had visitors in school who would be looking at lessons and we just told them to be their usual amazing selves. Nothing more was said. Why would we need to be worried?
