Life After Levels – Primary Maths

Today, as an aside in an unrelated meeting, my Headteacher asked, “How would you assess Maths without levels?”

At that point I tuned out of the meeting and began to list some ideas on a piece of scrap paper. Thought I’d jot them down pretty much word for word here as a more permanent record of my thinking and to get feedback from anyone who’s interesting in commenting.
